From the artist: "For me, a potluck is a true reflection of the Filipino spirit of bayanihan (community care/communal spirit). I once heard someone say there’s no such thing as a Filipino recipe for just 1 or 2 people—and it’s so true. In our culture, food is meant to be shared. I thought of so many family gatherings, where the table is overflowing with food, relatives are cooking and serving others, and there’s always room for more—friends, neighbors, even people we bump into on the way over. Everyone is welcome, & when you leave you’ll be taking leftovers home with you bc Lola won’t take “I’m full” for an answer ;)"
