From the artist: One of my dreams that I was growing up was owning a small shop. Being raised by my parents who are business owners might have influenced me to see how fun, difficult, passionate and accomplishing it is to have their own store in my eyes. My little dream might have been a bakery or cake shop, but I've always loved a feeling of small businesses and a tight-knit community feeling in a neighborhood, so I decided to paint shops for this series. I'm hoping that each painting tells a small story by itself without words.
